My question is why it can still connect to W2K8 although finally after several hours suddenly it can't? (I think if it can't, it doesn't have to be that long for W2K8 to deny the connection. I have talk to the local Microsoft Representative, they only said that Vista Basic could not connect to the server (the W2K8 will deny the connection from Vista Basic) and I had to buy Vista Business. The next step I made was configuring the W2K8 to be a workgroup and created all the user accounts locally (not using the domain/active directory). This problem almost occurs in the morning. However,by restarting the server, all clients could connect to the server again. But it didn't last long, after several hours (usually the next morning), when someone wrote the data to the server, suddenly all other clients could not connect to the server (but the server still worked fine when I log in locally).
FYI, before I installed Vista SP1 I could only connect 1 Vista Basic client, but after installing Vista SP1 all clients could connect to the server (read/write). I just want to use the file/folder sharing features of W2K8.
I know that it can not connect using "join domain" feature. Hi, I have a problem connecting Vista Basic to W2K8.
